Getting more traffic to a website or squeeze page is one of the biggest challenges for most internet marketers and affiliate marketers.
Read on to discover three easy and effective ways to get more free website traffic to your website and make more sales.
Traffic Method # 1 - SEO
If you are an established webmaster, you likely already know what SEO is. If not, you need to familiarize yourself with it right away. SEO, which is also known as search engine optimization, may have an important impact on the success of your website, even its failure.
The goal of search engine optimization (SEO) is to increase your search engine ranking. Having a high search engine ranking increases your chances of seeing traffic from search engines.
Search engine optimization encompasses a number of different methods, but one of the most important is content.
You need to have content on your website; it is what search engines and real people are looking for!
You will also want to do some keyword research to find out what people are looking for online - what keyword or phrase they are tyoping into the search engine.
There are many free tools to do keyword research online.
Try Google’s External Keyword tool. It will enable you to determine what keyword phrases internet users are searching with.
Using those keyword phrases on your website is needed to increase your website traffic from the search engines for those keywords.
Traffic Method # 2 - Article Submission
Have you heard of article directories before? Article directories are websites that act as hosts for collections of articles. One very popular article directory site is www.EzineArticles.com.
Article directories often contain a large collection of articles, sometimes even millions of articles. In exchange for you providing your content to their site for free, article directories will allow you to insert a link at the end of your article for free.
This link should direct readers to your online website, namely the page that outlines the affiliate products that you are selling. Not only
will it help to increase your website traffic, but your sales may also increase.
The more articles the better….more articles means more links going back to your site…and more readers you can attract. It all spells more traffic for you! You should set a goal for yourself, like submitting at five articles a week.
It is also important that you create content that is relevant to your website. If it is not, your readers might not click on your clink; thus defeating the purpose of submitting to article directories.
A lot of beginners and serious affiliate marketers use articles to market their websites. This is also known as Bum Marketing…because it’s free and anyone who can type can do it.
Traffic Method #3 - Blogging
Over the past few years, the popularity of blogging has skyrocketed. In addition to personal blogs, a large number of online businesses are now relying on blogs to help increase their website traffic and you can too. Blogs are nice because you are given choices.
You can create your own, free blog (www.wordpress.com or www.weebly.com) or you set a blog up on your own domain name and web server.
When creating a blog, you need to choose a tight topic to write about. You can create your own content, which may include articles, product reviews or recommendations. In fact, you don’t even have to write your own content.
You can use content from many free article directories; many will give you free usage rights (the piolicy is that you must keep the resource box in tact when you use it). Speaking of article directories, if you submitted your own articles, you can even use them for your blog.
The traffic you get to your blog can be monetized by places advertisements around the blog in the form of banners and text links. Blogs are very flexible these days so you can have just about anything you want on them.
But remember to update your blogs often with new content so people and search engines keep coming back to your blog.
Well, there you have three easy and effective ways to get free website traffic.
These three however, are a few of the easiest ways that you can go about increasing your website traffic. With a small amount of effort, you can easily see an increase in website traffic and in turn sales, in what seems like no time at all.

Affiliate Marketing Tip: Know Your Product
When it comes to an affiliate program, one of the most common mistakes a program participant makes is choosing to sell a product that they do not believe in or fully stand behind, one hundred percent.
Although you may be making money, you may also be creating a bad name for yourself. That is why it is important that you promote or sell products that you believe in.
When it comes to promoting a product that you believe in, one of the most commonly asked questions is “how?”
The best way to promote a product that you believe in is to actually try out the product.
For instance, if you are promoting an e-book, you may want to think about reading the e-book in question. In fact, if you ask, you may be given the e-book to review for free or for a discounted price.
If you are interested in joining an affiliate program set up by a retailer, you will earn commission for all sales, not just a particular product. To test the waters, you may want to think about placing an order, even just a small one.
This will give you a first hand look at the affiliate program that you will be promoting on your own site.
Perhaps, the greatest reason why you should test out a product is because if you don’t like it, there is a good chance that your customers won’t like it as well.
In a way, you can look at it as providing a service to the general public, at least internet users. By not agreeing to sell a poor quality product, you will be saving other consumers, just like you, money. In fact, you should be proud of yourself for refusing to do business with an affiliate program that doesn’t live up to par.
Another reason why you should avoid doing business with an affiliate program that sells a poor quality product is because of your reputation.
Although you are only directing customers to the site where they can buy the product in question, you may still be remembered for your part in the sale.
Do you really want to be remembered as the guy or the woman who recommended a product that wasn’t even worth the money spent? As it was mentioned above, you may be making money with an affiliate program, even if the product being sold isn’t as good as it could have been.
Although you may be making money will probably not last forever. In fact, you may soon find your sales decreasing, if the decrease hasn’t already started. You need to remember that customers talk.
If a customer was not satisfied with the product that they purchased, they will likely talk to their friends, family members, and coworkers.
They may even write negative reviews online. These negative reviews may cause other consumers to avoid purchasing the product that you are selling, as well as your whole website in general.
The money that you can make, right away, may seem nice, at the time, but you need to remember to think long-term.
Do you know what you want to do in the future, whether it is now or in a few years? If you are like many people, there is a good chance that you have no idea. What if you want to create your own products to sell online? What you do online now can come back to haunt you.
That is why it is important that you think about your future, in the business sense, and it what it may entail. If your dream is to one day start your own online business, you will want to refrain from bad publicity; bad publicity that may come in the form of a poorly run affiliate program.
Although it was advised that you actually test out the products that you will be promoting, through an affiliate program, testing isn’t your only option. You can also research a product online.
Reading customer reviews, both good and bad, may give you insight into the product you may have to sell. Better yet, it may help you decide whether or not it is a product that you want to be associated with.
I run several affiliate programs for my products which get great reviews from affiliates and customers.

Rich Affiliate Marketer Vs. Poor Affiliate Marketer
There are two types of affiliate marketers online. The Rich Affiliate and the Poor Affiliate.
The poor affiliate is poor because of a few reasons but this short article reveals an important reason why.
If you want your affiliate business to really fly, don’t treat it like a hobby.
I believe this is one of the primary differences between rich and poor affiliate marketers.
Lots of the poor affiliate marketers blame their lack of knowledge, most times technical knowledge, for the failure of their business.
They tinker with this and that, but never really get serious with one thing to make it their “business”. They just fluff around.
The poor affiliate marketer has no strategy, no systems, no goals and no tracking.
In fact, there is very little about what they are doing that even suggests they are running a business.
I get to meet and chat with lots of different affiliate marketers. From folks who are yet to make a dollar, right through to Uber affiliates who are making 50k+ profit a day.
One of the striking differences in these two different types of people is the way that they treat their business.
There are some guys I know that are doing 7 figures a year and can barely write a line of HTML.
That doesn’t matter to them. They know that Donald Trump is a lousy tradesman. They know that they don’t need to be good at everything. They understand that they are just the captain of the team.
They orchestrate their business by leveraging their time to the maximum by using planned methods and systems to grow their businesses.
Think wisely about your affiliate business. Treat it like a business and not a hobby. The more serious you think about it and more effort you put into it, the better and more profitable it will become for you as an affiliate marketer.

The 4 Steps To Building A Successful Online Business
What separates a half-baked website dismally struggling to make a single sale online from a highly successful website that makes thousands of dollars or more every single month?
The answer is in these four crucial steps below.
You see, every successful Internet business today has gone through and implemented these four fundamental steps.
If you screw up or miss any one of these four steps, your Internet business will come to a crashing halt.
The four steps are:
Market -> Product -> Website -> Traffic
1. Market
This is the first and most crucial stage in the four-step process.
Before anything can happen, you must first identify a profitable market niche you can enter.
It’s no use selling a product which nobody wants to buy! (Try selling dragon-slaying lessons… Oops! No more dragons.)
But a lot of people seem to make the critical error of missing this step altogether. Before doing any research to find out if there’s actually a market for their business idea or product, they rush headlong into developing a fancy product that no one actually needs at all.
As they say, don’t put the cart before the horse; identify your market niche first before you invest any time and money into creating a product.
2. Product
Once you’ve successfully identified a profitable market niche to enter, creating your product becomes relatively straightforward and easy.
All you need to do next is to conduct proper market research and discover what needs your market has that are yet to be fulfilled. And then you simply develop a product that will solve their needs.
In other words, you want to create a product that your market is already raring to buy.
Remember that it is easier (and far more lucrative) to sell a product that your market already wants, then to push a product that no one is interested in at all.
3. Website
Once you have product created, you now need a platform to promote it to the marketplace. And on the Internet, the website is still the best way of doing that.
There are many critical components into designing a website that actually markets your product successfully. (get some free web copywriting tips here)
Simply put, your website has to be designed around accomplishing your primary goal - which is to maximize your sales on the Internet. Anything else is purely unnecessary.
4. Traffic
Finally, it’s not much use having the best product and website in the world, if no one even knows it exists!
Traffic is the lifeblood of your Internet business. Just as your neighborhood grocery store needs customers to walk in and purchase their goods to make a profit, your website also needs visitors to land on it and purchase your product to make money.
There are many ways to drive targeted traffic on the Internet but here are the best free ways to drive traffic in a hurry.
These are the step-by-step methods that worked best for me and how you can drive a ton of traffic to your website.
Starting With Affiliate Marketing
Here is another question and answer series from Internet marketing guru Michael Rasmussen.
The topic is Affiliate marketing …mainly for beginners. Please read through and learn the basics of affiliate marketing.
QUESTION:
I’m brand new to online marketing. Can you tell me if affiliate marketing is a good way to start?
ANSWER:
The short answer is, “Absolutely!”
There’s nothing magic about affiliate marketing, but it’s a great place to get started.
The reasons are pretty simple:
* It takes VERY little money to get started. I recommend having your own website, and you should have an autoresponder account as well. But that’s really all you need to pay for.
* It’s easy to get started FAST. You can get set up within a day and easily start promoting products the next day, or even that first day. It’s not hard.
* The profit potential is great.
Even if you’ve already got an online business, affiliate marketing is worth a look. It’s a great way to supplement your income, and in most cases, it’s easy to add affiliate marketing to what you’re already doing.
So, regardless of whether you’re just getting started online or you’ve been at it for a while, affiliate marketing can be a great way to make solid cash.
